U6 & U7 is all about introducing young players to the game in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment.
Training sessions focus on basic movement, ball familiarity, and coordination through simple games and activities. At this age, football should feel exciting and playful, helping children build confidence and enjoy being part of a team.
Matches are friendly only, with no league tables or results. The emphasis is on participation, learning, and having fun.

The U8 & U9 age groups focus on building strong football foundations in a fun, supportive, and pressure-free environment.
At this stage, the emphasis is on helping players develop confidence with the ball while learning how to play as part of a team.
Football at this age is non-competitive. All matches are friendly fixtures, with no league tables or results. This allows players to learn, experiment, and enjoy the game without the pressure of outcomes.
Training sessions are structured around skill-based activities and small-sided games that encourage creativity, movement, and decision-making.

While results are part of the experience, the focus remains on learning, improvement, and enjoyment of the game.

Ladies

Riverside FC is proud to offer a dedicated Ladies football programme, following the merger of DC Footstars with Riverside FC in 2025 to form the Riverside DC Ladies.
This partnership strengthens women’s football at the club and creates a welcoming, supportive environment for female players.
Ladies football at Riverside operates slightly differently to junior age groups. Players train and compete in a mixed-age squad, allowing for development, mentorship, and strong team culture across age ranges.
The focus is on skill development, fitness, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game, while competing in organised league football
